Description

This course examines the economic causes and consequences of crime, with a focus mostly on the United States. Topics include deterrence theory, capital punishment, drug enforcement, mass incarceration, and criminal justice reform. Also examined are victimless crimes, corruption, criminal organizations, and terrorism. Prerequisites: ECON052 PO. Co-requisites: ECON057 PO. Letter grade only.
